Depression! So many people including myself have dealt with this at one time or another in life. For me it has caused me to miss out on many opportunities, relationships, and blessings. Depression also caused me to not believe in my abilities, my courage and myself. So my heart goes out to anyone who may be dealing with or who have dealt with depression. I know how it feels to cry and not know why you're crying or to feel like no one understands you. To be honest I still experience those feelings and emotions. However, you have to make up in your mind that you will not be a victim of this disorder, and that you will conquer your fears. If you don't then you'll always have the "what if?" thoughts. Why constantly ask "what if?" when you can take a chance and find out for yourself. Depression can hold you back if you let it, but it doesn't have to.
For the ones who has never dealt with depression or who're in denial, count yourself blessed. It's not something that is easy to overcome. Everyday is a fight to be better and to live a better life, even when you feel you can't fight. This disorder is causing so many young people to commit suicide and to lock themselves away from society. Of course by doing either you're not helping the situation. You have to face it and by doing so you overcome and conquer depression. You can also seek therapy from someone or someplace that is accredited (see link below). Plus keep those who truly care for you around, DO NOT dwell on your mistakes and what you may or may not have or anything negative.
I'm not quite sure what inspired me to blog about this, nor have I even scratched the surface about this disorder. Please know that if you or someone you love is battling depression that there's light at the end of the tunnel. Now I know that sounds cliché but it's so true. Also the more you talk about it the better you will feel about yourself and that awful "D" word. Below will be a couple of toll free numbers and some other info for those of you who may be interested in it. Take it from me it gets better :)
